We have no attendance requirement
to remain on the team. We do believe, however, that certain routines should be established in working towards a positive
experience. Inexperienced swimmers new to the team should consider attending at least three (3) practices per week.
This allows the athlete to learn the vocabulary, establish fundamentals towards proper body position, balance, and legal strokes.
Ten and under experienced swimmers should be training 4 times per week. This will allow the athlete to continue working
on fundamentals and begin developing an aerobic base. Eleven and older swimmers should be training 5 times per week.
This is a minimum approach to developing an aerobic base that can lead to a tapered performance at Championships. Junior
Olympic level swimmers should be training five to six times per week. The athlete at this level has narrowed down extra curricular
activities to a few commitments. The athlete at this level has a family that has adjusted to the demands year-round
swimming places on family life. Sectional level swimmers should be training 6-11 times per week. As an athlete develops, new
and greater demands are placed on the body and mind for continued improvement.
